An easy way to quickly access data, improve security and provide long-term maintenance at a lower cost than disk solutions. IBM tape drives are supported in IBM tape libraries as well as IBM racks that allow stand-alone installation. The IBM TS1100 tape drive family offers a design that focuses on high capacity, performance and high reliability for storing mission-critical data. Introduced in October 2003, the 3592-J1A tape drive had a capacity of 300 GB in a ½-inch format tape cartridge. It was also the foundation for future generations of this new tape drive family based on the concept of media reuse. This design helps protect the customer’s investment in tape cartridges.
